Resin Jewellery

What an exciting lesson!

At today's lesson we tried making resin jewellery.  It was very exciting to make and watch and the results were fantastic.

We started by taking a mould.  (plastic moulds that we had purchased and some silicon moulds that we made ourselves.  Read how in another post.)

We used a two part resin, one mum measured out the resin using scales, then it was past on to the crafty girl to stir while another mum timed and added teh colour.  We had to work quickly and precisely as the resin set in 5 minutes.  So, it gave us a stirring and pouring time of approx. 3 mins.  We only had one colour, turquoise but we managed a great variety of tones.

The crystal clear resin we used to embed stuff in took 24 hours to cure.  So we left it to the end of the class.

Here are the finished pieces.
