Woollen Feathers!

With the freezing cold weather today I thought it would be great to do something with wool.  But with limited time I knew we couldn't finish a knitted item, so we made some feathers.

We took a piece of florist wire and wrapped it in wool/crochet cotton.

Starting half way up the wire we then tied on 10cm lengths.  Tied with one knot leaving no spaces between each length.

Once the desired amount of lengths were tied on, we sprayed it with spray starch.  We then smoothed the strands out and allowed to dry.

We then trimmed it into a feather shape.

Here are the finished feathers.
